St Andrew’s (SACS) is a dynamic, independent school located in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. With modern facilities and an emphasis on technology in the classroom, our urban location presents innumerable opportunities for students to engage beyond the classroom; with city museums, concert halls, theatres, legal centres and galleries. Our central city location enables students to travel with their parents to work, or easily reach the school by train, car or bus.

Our Academic Programme

SACS caters for all learners, encouraging each to develop a lifelong love of learning. The overwhelming majority of students pursue university education following graduation – with increasing numbers going overseas to study. SACS offers two credentials for the final years of school (Years 11 and 12): the Higher School Certificate (HSC) from the NSW Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP); and SACS has now introduced the Middle Years Programme (MYP). As a fully comprehensive school, St Andrew’s differentiates teaching practices to accommodate students with a broad range of interests and abilities. Our performance in public Australian examinations suggests an atmosphere of highly accomplished learning and teaching. At SACS, every student is nurtured, encouraged and valued. A growing number of international students enrol every year and a diverse community of students are drawn from all over Sydney and beyond.

Special Programmes

SACS has created innovative working environments that encourage a passion for learning and a culture of participation across sport, music and the performing arts. There are more than 20 music and drama ensembles at the school, and a comprehensive Outdoor Education programme (Years 3 – 10), based at the school’s rural Southern Highlands property. A variety of community service opportunities in remote parts of Australia and adventure-based trips overseas are offered to students.

St Andrew’s has a number of scholarship opportunities available for gifted students who would otherwise be unable to attend the school due to financial circumstances, and to assist existing students.
